'Hit The North', is a lyrical and poetic road movie which follows a Hitcher up the A1 motorway in search of his father, during the UK Miner's strike of the 1980s. Characters from the road's past haunt the Hitcher's journey. Past, present and future meld, we see the Hitcher as a child and man, defined by the road. Eventually he discovers his father in Glasgow but the Hitcher is unable to connect to a personal or political history.
